'Terrific' Turris a great fit for Sens

Can Turris take Daigle's old number?

Turris 'excited' to be a Senator

Kyle Turris couldn?t hide his excitement.

Wearing the No. 7 previously worn by defenceman David Rundblad, the Senators newly-acquired centre was on the ice at the Bell Sensplex Monday and will be in the lineup Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres at Scotiabank Place.

Turris, dealt to the Senators Saturday by the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for Rundblad and a No. 2 pick, skated on a line with Nick Foligno on his left and Erik Condra on the right.

?I?m excited to get going,? said Turris. ?I?m really excited. I couldn?t wait to get started (Monday) and meet all the guys and get going (Tuesday).

?I don?t think I?ve seen this many cameras for a number of years now. It?s a lot different pressure but I?m ready for it.?

Turris said his goal is simple: ?Just to help the team win. I want to contribute.?

Coach Paul MacLean said it?s nice to have another skilled forward for a team that has, at times, struggled to score this season.

?I thought he skated really good. He had good skill with the puck, shot the puck, just what we expected,? said MacLean.

The Senators said defencemen Sergei Gonchar and Filip Kuba are ready to return from injuries.

Winger Milan Michalek, the club's leading scorer, could skate Tuesday after suffering a concussion a week ago.

Is it over yet?
