Luckily for us there are still 2 periods left and we're only down by 2 - that was awful. The puck has been a grenade the past few games and Gonchar is playing like a dog. Let's go a-------holes!

Is it too late to work our way back into the lottery?

I think it's cool if we start panicking now.

I think the big problem I saw tonight with you guys was just what Healy said: Alfie and Karlsson are driving and too many of the rest are passengers.  And Gonchar truly was brutal.

That, and somehow you got out ahead of the pack with 55 GP already so everybody behind you has games in hand.

Having said all that, I doubt you drop out of the race.  A bunch of us will be battling for the last 3 spots.

That's been the story, unfortunately.

Karlsson, Alfie and Turris have been good.  Phillips is soft, Carkner is slow, Cowen is struggling, Gonchar's a giveaway machine, Konopka's useless, Spezza's hurt, Michalek's ice cold, Foligno's in a drought, and Anderson's getting burnt out.

It'll turn around, everything's going against them.  But considering how tight the playoff race is, it doesn't take much to fall out of it.  They had some problems with the officials, got frustrated and made everything worse.

Well - aside from the start of the year this is the first real adversity we've faced...let's see what we're made of.

No offense, but losing 4 or 5 was the "first real adversity they faced."

Going into the Leafs game they were facing adversity... the Leafs just compounded it.  HNIC, at home, facing your rivals, having lost 5 in a row... thats some adversity.  And they layed an egg.

Like you said earlier though, they have a lot going wrong right now, so some of that will change.  They'll turn it around but they have St. Louis and Nashville next so it won't be easy.

They layed an egg yeah - I'm not disputing that. That's only the 2nd time we've been shut-out this year and easily the most embarrassing loss of the year so it is a new level of adversity, this loss has sent everyone into panic mode. It's not getting any easier as you pointed out but at least we got the next 4 at home. I'm anxious to see how we respond = let's see what they're made of.

Here we go again.

EDIT: And now Konopka and Crombeen waste everyone's time.

EDIT2: Anderson gets pulled less than 4 minutes in.  Think I might spend some time catching up on Californication tonight.
