Opening Forward Lines

How about switching Lupul and JVR for a bit more balance?  Spread your 2 goal scorers over the 2 lines.

That keeps Kadri/Lupul together and keeps JVR/Bozak together.

I think that in terms of pure offence Lupul is a step above JVR (when healthy of course). I also don't think JVR-Bozak without Kessel has been very effective in the small stretches when they've been split up this season. Granted they've had Clarkson on their other wing for the most part when that happens so maybe that's what hurt them.

With the way Bozak is playing lately, I wouldn't mind seeing Holland slide up to the 2C.  I also think Kadri needs to be a permanentish fixture on the top line.  And keep Clarkson on the 2nd line as long as he's playing well, for as long as that lasts, and maybe there's some distant hope that the Leafs can keep $2 million/year and unload him on some poor GM that doesn't watch any games, or read the paper... or lives under a rock.

You thought they were effective, really in what way, both Bozak and JVR are totally dependent on Kessel offensively and neither of them are defensively adequate. I would like to see both of these players moved, Bozak is an overpaid maybe 3rd line player, 3rd line might be a stretch because his offensive totals are normally those of a 3rd line center but he's been getting 1st line minutes. JVR is a one trick pony, plants himself in the opposition's goalie's face, valuable, but he offers absolutely nothing in any other part of the game

Remembering all the years where no Leaf was willing to stand in front of the net, I'll take JVR any day.  He's also pretty skilled at redirecting the puck, and cutting to the net with speed.  I think JVR has a lot of skills that aren't particularly common, and he would be a different player with a center like ROR that could shelter him defensively.

Kessel, JVR, Kadri are the untouchables for me on top 6
JVR has a sick skill set so should not be moved.
Komorav can stick around as well.
