PA Parenteau Trade Watch

sickbeast said:
Look, the only bone headed person is Babcock for dressing Parenteau on Saturday. The rest of this nonsense is neither here nor there.

So, even though nothing happened in the game on Saturday that impacted Parenteau's health, and any injury would have to have been disclosed regardless of whether or not he played - making the fact that he was dressed on Saturday completely irrelevant as to why he wasn't moved - Babcock is somehow boneheaded?

I'm as critical as anyone about what the Leafs weren't able to do tonight and I can't for the life of me crack this code about what Saturday night has to do with anything.

It was a bone head move, yes.

So, since you haven't actually presented any evidence as to why it was a boneheaded move - and, in fact, all the actual available evidence points to the fact that he was dressed on Saturday being entirely irrelevant to why he wasn't traded by the deadline this afternoon - your argument is basically that it was a boneheaded move because it was a boneheaded move?

Are you still sure about you not having bones in your head?

Wasn't Fontanel a great French prospect? I might be wrong.

I am not un happy that he did not get traded. I think he will be here next season. Will help with the mentoring of the kids.

Some size issues. Took too long to develop. ;D

Before you guys to too far up your high horses, Parenteau did leave the game after the first Saturday night, right?

To get treatment?  http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2016/02/27/potential-trade-target-parenteau-leaves-ice-reportedly-getting-treatment/

That's enough of a red flag for me to go chase another one of the many many targets available, so let's cool it with the personal stuff.

Maybe if they scratched him, Boyes, and Grabner, it may have been less obvious?

He left the game after 5 shifts, to get treatment for a muscle cramps that he was experiencing before the game started and felt he could play through. Nothing in the game on Saturday caused the issue, and it's something that would have had to be disclosed to a potential trade partner, regardless. Basically, whether or not he played on Saturday, that red flag was there. And, honestly, this is something that will keep him out for 7-10 days, max. If a team wanted him badly enough to part with a 2nd round pick for him, this would not have been enough to scuttle the deal. The "obviousness" of it is immaterial, really, and the fact that he dressed on Saturday would not have impacted a deal if there was really serious interest in him out there.
