Panthers @ Leafs - Mar. 26th, 7:30pm - TSN4, Fan 590

and Bernier wants a raise and a long termer? Get friggen real... accept the draft picks on all offer sheets.... that was a beer league goal, just like the second one...jeezuz

Man, the best thing that I could have said about the 1st period was that Bernier didn't allow a terrible goal in the first 5 minutes. Guess he was saving those for when I turned the game off.

Imagine this game meant something to the Leafs (other than losing)?  Thornton got hit, went right after MacWilliam and ignored the play, refs let it go until the Leafs had a 2 on 1, then blew the whistle and gave even penalties for some reason.

Doesn't make sense.

Leafs down 3-0.  Shawn Thornton tries to start a fight while the Leafs are on an odd man rush and the refs blow the play down.  That's some pretty good garbage from the refs.

Bernier's just not that good.  I mean not bad and on a good team I'm sure he's fine but he's not remotely close to the Carey Price "carry a mediocre team far above their heads" calibre.  In fact I might actually argue that the guy is pretty mediocre for a good starter.  He hasn't shown any consistency over his career thus far.

It was truly bad!!!  Should have traded Bernier at the deadline!  He's killing his value with a bad goal, or two, every game!

Pushing and shoving instigated by the Panthers, and, we lose the 2 on 1.  Disgusting!!!

Glad someone agrees with me...Ive been saying that for ages. I dont see it... too many weak goals. I dare say he has had more Toskala moments this year than any other goalie has in their entire career.... NEXT!

Next is right... I hope management sees it, and moves Bernier quickly in the off season.

Well yeah, comparing him to a goalie who's having one of the best goaltending performances the league has seen since the days of Dominik Hasek doesn't seem all that fair.

I'm giving other players a pass for their play in the last month or two, so I won't get getting on Bernier's case that much. I still think that he can be pretty good goalie in this league, but I'm all for moving him. Goalies come and go.

Bernier's not that bad, but he's not that good either. They're rebuilding. At this point keeping him or trading him doesn't really matter. As with any other player on this roster, if the right deal comes along, why the heck not?

Bernier has been letting in bad goals since he arrived.  Not sure if he can be labeled as 'not that bad.'  JMHO.

While I do agree with you as far as the comparison thing goes.... hes a guy who will be looking for both term and a nice bump. So drawing that comparison in my books is completely fair when it comes to both of those.
