Penguins @ Leafs - Dec. 17th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

I used to play Centre in football and played against A Thicks bro.  Sorry I buried him ever time we played. Alan's father was a Doc in Brampton for you info.

Now that we've squandered so many power plays, we're bound to take a penalty in the 3rd and get scored on! It's almost a frigging guarantee!

I don't want to keep harping on this Komarov on the PP, but I see Bozak get Marner as a winger on the PP and Matthews has Komarov. Is Babcock afraid to even try Matthews and Marner together on the PP? I mean, that might be good no?

Whoa, the refs made the right call after Kadri gets dumped into the crossbar.

I mean, I'm glad they didn't do anything ridiculous like not calling anything but I really don't understand why that wouldn't be two penalties. One for the cross check and then hitting him when he was on the ground.

Yeah, but I was expecting Kadri to get called for the goaltender interference and diving.

Saying Matthews "has Komarov" seems a little misleading. Matthews is on a unit with both Kadri and Nylander so it's not like he's out there without help.

The Leafs in general don't have a ton of good wings, no matter how you shake things up one of the PPs will have some questionable players on it.

Well, it was roughing, so, a penalty would have been justified.  However, the Ref gave Fluery the benefit of the doubt.

Connor Brown has shown more offense in his career than Komarov or Soshnikov ever have, I get that Babs likes him on the PK, but he should be getting more PP time.

Maybe, Babcock is trying to up his trade value by putting him out on the power play.  Problem is, Komarov is just not cooperating by getting some goals!

Whatever Babcock is trotting out isn't working is my point. Marner and Matthews are two of the most gifted offensive players they have and I've yet to see them play together. It might be worth a try. JVR-Matthews-Marner as first PP, then mix up Bozak with Nylander and Kadri as another option.

Definitely would like to see Connor get some pp time,.

I don't like the 4 forwards on the PP with Nylander playing the point either. Defenseman are used to playing the points , keep the Rielly-Zaitsev and Gardiner-Carrick pairings on the PP

Hornqvist high sticks himself and the Leafs get a 4 minute penalty.  Short of the puck over the glass penalty this is rapidly becoming my least favourite penalty call.  Players should be skating around with a blood pack in their mouth in case they get high sticked.
