Penguins @ Leafs - Oct. 11th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Well good night.

Tough schedule to start plus system changes plus a lot of personnel changes plus assistant coaching changes = really hard to get off to a good start. This stuff takes some time to shake out (10-20 games).

Carlyle is up against it to survive.

Looks like Reimer's going to get a shot to win his job back. They cannot afford many softies right now.

It's not like the team has completely changed their systems. Plus, Pittsburgh has a new coaching staff too and implemented quite a few changes to their game and it didn't seem to take long (granted, it's easier when you have the best player on the planet and arguably the 2nd best player on the planet.

Plus their 'changes' were from a team that did considerably better than the Leafs last season.

I'm shuffling from laughter.

I'm glad they did something and at least moved Kessel off that line, but uh yeah, Clarkson?

I just find it funny how much Kessel has done over the last couple seasons where Carlyle hasn't shown much accountability to terrible players (Orr for example) and 5 periods into this season he's flexin' that accountability apparently.

EDIT: But he's on Kadri's line I guess?  I actually like that.

Getting on a line with Kadri and Lupul would be a reward for Phil in my eyes.

Yeah I wrote before I knew that, and edited it!

I see it more as a reward for Kadri and Lupul who are the only two forwards who've shown some offensive life.

Agreed Frank. Clarkson's been decent in the first two games.

And a more talented team overall with fewer personnel changes.
