Pre-season: Sabres @ Leafs - Sept. 20th, 7:00pm - SN1, TSN 1050

That was a wonderful play but when he drops his head like that in the middle of the ice, even for a split second, all I can picture in my mind's eye is Lindros spinning around in the fetal position after Stevens obliterated him.

I know it's only preseason but it looks like Mikheyev and Sandin will start with the big club. Both have earned it so far. Liljegren is also pushing for a spot. Pretty steady out there. It wouldn't bother me seeing them as the bottom pairing.

Timashov & Mikhayev.  Mikhayev?s playmaking stood out and he showed why he?s such a good offensive prodder.

Especially liked Sandin.  Progressively better than Liljegren.

I know it's just preseason, but:

D-Men
1) Sandin is really, really good. I'm sure they don't want to rush him, and ideally he's in next year to mitigate cap hell with lillegren, but man, he could step in at any point.
2) I don't know anything about that Reubin (sp?) guy, but I thought he played big, mean, and handled the puck well.
3) I'm not a huge Marincin fan, but he's played competently enough so far,

Fwds:
1) Nylander is going to outperform his contract this season; he's flying. You can already see the chemistry coming back with 34. I'll bet his line has more points than Marner/Tavares. I hope it's close.
2) I know he's a marlies fill-in, but this Gaudet guy has stood out a little. His line with Aberg and forget who the other guy was looked strong.
3) Mikheyev had some good signs of being a found wallet.

So far,  Sandin is standing out, Ceci is Ok just steady looks like an improvement on Zaitsev.  Lilepad looks Ok.  Marancin is looking steady as well.  (sorry for any misspelling of names)
Timashov and Mickey Russkie looked good together.Don't even need to talk about the Matthews line.
Strange standouts: Agnostino, Gaudet (where did this guy come from) who seems to play quite a large game.
I think this team is going to be hard to handle this year, a real flying circus
