Qualifier Game 1: Blue Jackets @ Leafs - Aug. 2nd, 8:00pm - SN

It's so funny watching one bad game and the calls to blow up the team and changing their style completely are already happening.

No fans, hockey in August, the Leafs playing in Toronto as the road team... it's actually refreshing to see some things haven't changed.

Like LK said, try some different exits.  Stretch passes probably won't be there, but flip passes might be.  The idea is to inject some chaos into the game to disrupt CBJ's structure.  Do that a few times and then perhaps the ice opens up.

We can continue to play their style and it will be an even game, but then it comes down to which goalie fluffs one first.

I think you've kind of articulated why these playoffs aren't legitimate - if we're already using the conditions as a scapegoat for losses.

If you are heavily invested in the team's success this summer, then your "some things haven't changed" line could easily be spun back around to leafs 1st round track record, so I don't blame fans for their frustration. This wasn't born out of a single game.

You say the Leafs are too soft but you're actively cheering for Carolina so the Leafs have a shot at another skilled forward. Unless you think Lafrieniere is the missing grit in this lineup I don't understand your thought process.

I never said the Leafs were too soft, and I assume you mean Columbus? I said I'd rather have a shot a lafreniere over success in these playoffs, because I don't find them legitimate of the cup's significance, but they're lots of fun to watch, and I don't blame anyone that thinks otherwise regarding legitimacy.

Yeah I meant Columbus. That's what happens when you just finished watching Canes/Rangers game. Lol

I guess I confused you with Azzurri who thinks Leafs are too soft. I can buy the argument of illegitimate playoffs and wanting Lafrieniere instead. I still stand by the side of I want a Cup win in my lifetime even if a bunch of people say it has an asterisk. I'm not getting any younger and I'm running out of patience so I want a Cup every season.
