R1, G1: Bruins vs. Maple Leafs - Apr. 19th, 8:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

I know they lost 7-3 in game one last year but I?m at the point where I don?t even want to watch anymore. It?s so disheartening. Maybe I?ll just check the score on the web this series.

No real surprises. Goaltending and the effectiveness of forecheck and zone exits are the difference. It will be a short series unless the Leafs can clean that up.

And Matthews can't score. It's the same script over and over.

Breathe deep. It's game 1. Series is far from over.
For any other team on the playoffs, against any team other than Boston, I would agree, but we all know how this script goes.
Well if you know then stop watching. Leafs can win this series and we don't know how it's going to go.

Watching the intermission panel talking.  I?m sorry, Nylander is great but wouldn?t be a magical difference for what we are watching.

A healthy Nylander would improve the PP (just what are they trying to do tonight) and would create a big matchup problem if he's on the 3rd line. Leafs only real advantage in this series was supposed to be their top end scorers and overall offensive depth. His absence is a huge loss. Now, whether it would be enough to overcome the deficiencies elsewhere (especially on defense and in goal), who knows. But if he's out multiple games the Leafs chances take a huge hit.

So many things have gone wring with the Leafs tonight.  Bad penalties, Reaves and  Holmberg largely  responsible  for the first 2 goals , bad PK and 810 goaltending.  But the Leafs can skate with them.  How about Bertuzzi  and Lilly on the pp instead of Tavares and Rielly ?    They were quite impactful a few months ago and the pp has been ineffective the last  10 games.  What do they have to lose?

I?m perfectly entitled to my view, and will watch if and when I wish.  I actually think a series loss will be good for this team long term, as real change may actually follow.

Just stack the bottom 6 shifts. Back to back heavy shifts giving the Leafs some momentum and pride.

I don't know how until Tavares' contract is up, Dubas doomed this team when spent way, way to much on 4 players.

One more year.

Robertson takes a hit to the head but it's the Leafs that get the penalty. Not happy with McCabe having the puck, stopping to dish out a hit, then losing the puck. Leafs never got it back after that.

Noticed that too. Robertson took the hit to make the play and McCabe wasted it.
