Game over. We simply can't hang with this team. We're not a playoff built team.

Amazingly, there's a thing called the second and third period.

Doesn't matter. Bruins are men among boys. All they have to do is keep it on the boards. Leafs can't sustain pressure, can't keep possession and give away the puck all the time. Bruins are going to sail into a 4-0 sweep. They drew the weakest team in the playoffs.

Hopefully though, this lets Nonis and Carlyle know who should be retained and who should be replaced. You can't win playoff Hockey without a good possession team that also lacks board play. Simple.

And in the D-Zone we are as porous and weak as ever.

Let's be honest - Most of us expected this, though. The ones who didn't were wearing blue and white goggles.

You're right, with a whole 20 minutes in the books I've put away my goggles.  I mean, it's over right?

Oh that's Mr. Special teams don't matter in the playoffs.  2 of 3 goals on the PP so far.

Mock me all you want - your defense mechanism is transparent. You know this team won't win a single game, and will probably be blown out in at least one. You don't want to admit that though.

I don't blame you. If I had any hope for this team going into the playoffs, I'd be pissed, too.

That said - The Bruins stand a better chance scoring on us 5o5 than they do on the PP. Don't ask me why that is, but we suck defensively 5 on 5.

Calling the series after a single period in a four game series is beyond premature, regardless of how one expects things to turn out.

Yes. This next 40 minutes is simply formality.

We'll see.

I bet:

Special teams doesn't have a big impact in the series. Bruins get most of their offence 5on5. Leafs score a couple on the PP, but little on 5o5.

Leafs get hemmed in their zone for atleast 2 minutes every period from game 1 to game 4.

Bruins blow out the Leafs in at least one game.

For this game:

Bruins score two more goals, both 5on5. Leafs score none and generate little to no offensive pressure.

Not only the next 40, but the next 220!

If JVR plays the puck in neutral ice instead of going for open ice hit shorthanded, the game would still be 1-1

Was thinking the exact same thing.

I disagree, he sprinted up the ice and wouldn't be able to sprint back.  So he took one of their players out of the play.  One for one.  The dmen are not blocking shots properly on both those goals.

I'm willing to chalk up a lot of the less desirable stuff we saw that period to nerves. It's been a long time since most of this team has seen playoff hockey - and, in many cases, this is their first dip in the pool. Now that the first period is under their belt, they should be able to get it under control.

I wouldn't argue against that.
