A rising tide floats all boats, so naturally it is easier to pick up points on a team with good players. Most of these are not chump change junior points but statistical byproducts of Cowan getting to the right ice with and without the puck. And it?s not like any of his other teammates are picking up points as consistently themselves.

I've seen a lot of his points. He's pretty special. Not sure where he should play next year.

Depends how ready he is? He'll get a shot to play for the Leafs or back to junior he goes. Don't see him  playing overseas

Are the playing options for Cowan next season just Leafs or junior?

Yes. Unless the Leafs try to Shane Wright him with a conditioning stint exemption.

Don't see that happening with the Leafs because his cap hit will count and we know the Leafs will most likely be up to it. Add in he can only go for 14 days. I think he gets his 9 games at minimum but I think he goes the Marner route. Their birthdays are in May and Marner started with the Leafs when he was 19. He's def too good for the OHL next season.

Yeah I don?t see them doing that either.

The Marner situation was an artificial suppression to time with the tank. In this situation, it might actually make more cap sense to start Cowan earlier so he doesn?t hit the ground at 60+ pts.

Some might remember I was very against the idea of Cowan even being in the conversation of being a full time NHLer as a 19-year old next season. I also didn't expect him to be a 1.75 PPG player in the OHL this season while being a regular penalty killer. At this point he's certainly trending toward being at least a legitimate option.

I was a little worried that Grebyonkin was going to be a low-key prospect another team targeted at the trade deadline to make up for the lack of 2nd round picks (I half-expected Dubas to try and pry him out of here somehow). Will be really interesting if the Leafs can get him over next season, don't believe he currently has a KHL contract for 24/25.

He is indeed KHL contract-less and bypassed the deadline for re-signing. Surprisingly still getting premium minutes from his KHL club, which is a testament to his progress.
