“I had no idea how good Tinus was,” Leksands coach Johan Hedberg told The Athletic in October. “If he keeps going like he’s been going, he’s going to be our best player by the end of the year.”
Teenagers aren’t supposed to be playing as well in the SHL as Koblar has. Fellow 2025 second-round pick Theo Stockselius is playing the majority of his season in Sweden’s junior league.
Among 18-year-olds, the Norwegian-born Koblar is sixth in SHL scoring with five points in 21 games. His blend of playmaking and physicality makes him a rare player.
“(Koblar) has taken the chance to play well and he’s made it easy for us to play him,” Persson said.
The Leksands coaching staff insists it never intended for Koblar to become so vital to the senior team this season.

He had some good moments and def some rough ones too, pretty much like all of the kids. Some people are saying McKenna won't be #1 now. I remember people were ripping Cowan and Minten as well. I try not to get to hyped or down on any of them based on this short tourney. We'll see what happens with him and hopefully we'll see him in the line up one day.Watching the World Juniors...I'm not seeing the appeal of Ben Danford
I was a Sam O'Reilly (picked 1 spot later) guy at the draft and he seemed to have a much better showing, although I'm not entirely sure I agree with him being named one of the top 3 players on the team. It's also a little tough to see Igor Chernyshov (picked 2 spots later) lighting it up in his very early NHL career: 8 points in 8 games with San Jose. Not sure he was really on very many people's radars at the time though.Watching the World Juniors...I'm not seeing the appeal of Ben Danford
