Red Wings @ Leafs - Oct. 17th, 7:30pm - SNO, TSN 1050

Even at 2-0 I felt like they where still holding their own, a few unlucky bounces and debatable calls later the heads seemed to drop and Detroit took over.

Seemed like a weak mental game tonight, a lot of players looked like they quit a little.

Well, I guess after than explanation, I understand millen's point.

Next game I'm at, I'll throw my pants on the ice instead.

What are you kidding?  You gotta hit them where it hurts and if it hurts seeing their sweater on the ice, then good.  Cuz it hurts watching them play.  If they want to be proud of that jersey, they've gotta get better.

Congratulations! You just won TMLfans.ca!

1. A lot of passengers tonight. Wings out skated the Leafs all night.
2. Early penalties took top line out of action early. That was not good.
3. No net coverage. Wings strolled in with impunity.
4. Playing Kadri line head to head with Zetterberg was a bad idea.
5. Kozoun, one of the few with some jump, gets hurt. Bummer.
6. Apart from getting twisted around by Zetterberg on second goal, Gardiner played pretty decently.
7. Reimer was just okay, or maybe not that okay.
8. Fourth line needs another revamp, only player on it just got hurt.
9. With Gardiner, Rielly and Percy all left shooting young defencemen, why is Phaneuf still playing over there?
10. Will the Bernier of last year show up tomorrow night?

Abbot wins it in OT for the Marlies.

People are raving about 3 on 3 OT.

That isn't a screencap from the 1920's, it's actually the quality of the stream AHL Live had of the game, it's the worst I've ever seen.

Wow, I loaded that game up on HS to check it out myself. AHL Live is generally garbage, but that's taking it to a whole new level.

Gardiner led all Leafs in ice-time.

That's Carlyle for benching incoming.

I'd really like a reporter to ask him whether he is throwing the games during which he plays him the max minutes or is he throwing the games in which he is benched. Which is it?

I think somebody got the idea to turn a security camera towards the ice and call it AHL Live.

Kozun will have an MRI. Carlyle says it could be a high ankle sprain. Will not play tomorrow

He's definitely going to miss some time because of this, but considering what happened and his reaction to it a high ankle sprain is probably good news.

The Detroit duo of Zetterberg & Franzen (you can add Nyquist to the mix) practically put on a clinic.  They had the Leaf defence 'mesmerized', and that includes to a certain extent, Reimer.

Penalties, giveaways (12), sloppiness & disorganization, this wasn't going to be the Leafs' night.  Not too many excuses tonight.

Let's hope the Leafs rebound with a win in Detroit.

Hard to blame Reimer on any of those goals.
The defense in total look bad. I see Polak sitting tonight, as his game was the worse IMO.

As I stated at the end of game two. Kozun did not belong on the fourth line and sorry Holland IMO lost his job. time to bring up hungry players and NO that does not mean Ashton or Frattin, because they are both IMO garbage and should not of made the team to begin with. I suggest Bodie, at least he will play defensive and may hit something.

I watch the second and third goals and IMO they may of been both off side. Over all the game was very disappointing. I hope they come out with some fire this evening

Agreed. The only one I don't want to see benched is Holland. Though they don't get much ice time, at least he's with wingers that have a chance at producing offensively.

Yeah, but there's a part of me that sort of thinks that we might want to stop looking at a guy sitting for a game or two like some terrible insult or demotion. We might want to start looking at the roster a little bit more like they do in soccer where a team might shift things around depending on the match-up and just getting everyone some playing time.

I agree and assume you meant the collective "we." I'd extend the thinking to the defense as well, especially since there are currently seven capable defensemen on the team.
