Round 1: Colorado Avalanche vs. St. Louis Blues

I could easily justify the two Boston series infractions (culminated from the injustice that comes with Boston refereeing). This one is just straight up bad.

With a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period of a game 2 of a series they should have absolutely no problem winning.

I can at least understand watching a teammate getting hit and snapping.

This one just seemed unprovoked though.

It's similar to the one he threw on Daniel Sedin

I like the suspension but he gets hit hard every time he does something and I honestly just shake my head how he consistently gets the book thrown at him while DOPS go out of their way to protect a guy like a Wilson

They protected Wilson when he got 27 games his last 2 suspensions? I don't buy it.

Did you look at that NYR game where Wilson Pedigreed Panarin to the ice? I don't care what happened before, I care about what happened in the most recent event and what happened was nothing.

And as an aside, DOPS was going to give Wilson nothing for his hit on Carlo until Bettman stepped in. Come on man.

It's pretty well established that 1 playoff game = 2 regular season games. So this is a 16 game suspension in the regular season. For a guy with Kadri's suspension history I don't hate that, the problem is like Bednar says when you compare it to the standard established from other headshots it doesn't really line up.

Call other head shots even for first time offenders 3-5 games (and then make it clear that repeat offenders get a certain multiplier) and this is fine. But that's not what's happening.

What would Wilson get for the same hit?

Wilson's hit that got him the 20 game suspension (eventually reduced to 14) was actually pretty similar to Kadri's. Both blindside headshots (Wilson came from a more unsuspecting angle). So I would wonder if the league used that as the template but dropped it a bit since Wilson's eventually got reduced by an arbitrator.

Which again kinda goes back to my problem with it. An arbitrator might eventually think this one needs to get reduced for the same reason Wilson's was... even as a repeat offender it's too high based off the light suspensions other players are given. So start giving harsher suspensions to start and you can freely go big on the repeat guys.
