Round 1: Florida Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Both of them coulda/shoulda been majors for boarding. Bennett's was worse when you add in the 20 foot charge/retaliatory aspect of it.

Def worse but that shouldn't excuse the other.

I never said it did? I was just answering your question of why one was risen to the level of the supplementary discipline when the other wasn't. I'm not sure DOPS can step in and issue further punishment on McDonagh just because the refs blew the call on the ice by not handing him a major penalty.

There could be a world where even hits like McDonagh's are the standard for a suspension but unfortunately the NHL isn't really there.

I never said you didn't.  Just a general comment that McDonaugh's hit shouldn't be ignored, that's all.

If that's not 10 games, I'm not sure what is. That's one of the worst charging/hits from behind I've seen. Thank god Coleman was standing upright.

Playoffs. No suspension history. Phone hearing - meaning, max 5 games allowed. I'm guessing 3 games.

That's crazy. if Coleman doesn't straighten up at the last second , he's possibly in a wheelchair.

(I don't expect a major suspension, but it should be).

Let me refer once again to what Nazem Kadri was suspended for, for significantly less predatory infractions after the refs basically ceded game control to the Bruins.

Fun read about non-hockey fans in Miami majorly turned onto hockey after watching Game 1:

For the first time in my hockey life, I have set my PVR to record all of another team's games, at least for the duration of this series.
