Sabres @ Leafs - Dec. 17th, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

You can complain about the 3rd but after all Buffalo played the whole period with a 2-man advantage.

Ok, the refs were bad, but the hyperbole is strong in here.
C'mon man that second goal was like 30 seconds after that non call on Dermott. Leafs get a PP there and the mini comeback never happens.

I was watching some of the replays. Reilly looked awful on the 3rd goal. Why you're stepping up on the blueline for a hit defending a 3 on 2 with a lead is... a bad decision. Especially when you miss the guy completely.

I agree with this.  The refs missed that call, an egregious one.  Do you think the rest of the game was called pretty square?  That?s how it seemed.

And he never even made an  attempt to get back. Brutal. He was bad on the 1st goal too, screening Freddie.

Was at the game last night on the side where Dermott got hit. Matthews definitely grabbed Okposo as he was getting off and wouldn?t let him go to the Sabres bench. There were a few heated exchanges and a good cross check from Matthews. For a few seconds it almost looked like Matthews was going to drop the gloves, but the linesman came in after that.
Wouldn?t want Matthews to fight, but good to see too.

I guess with his concussion history he forgot there?s no place for this when he drilled Dermott into the boards late and on the numbers.

I don?t get how that hit from behind isn?t getting looked at. He deliberately drove Dermott?s head into the boards in an extremely dangerous area.

It was a blatantly obvious missed call and not doing anything about it seriously undermines the credibility of the league.

That was a pretty goal by Matthews. But less showy, but Nylander actually made a very, very high skill play in setting it up. You'll see him rush the puck over the blueline as part of a stickhandling move to match the speed of the other winger entering the zone -he stays onside and keeps high momentum to take the two defencemen deep, leaving Matthews wide open and a clear lane.

Look at the brutal trip of Kapanen in front of the net as the puck goes in.

Figures.  The disciplinary group are a joke.  Yet another game where the Leafs can?t buy a powerplay because apparently all teams they play are saints.

That's fucking outrageous. He deserved at least a fine for that. We're just lucky the outcome wasn't worse. And if it was, do they act then??

That is a good spot and another clear infraction.

Can't really count that since even if the ref had in intention of calling the tripping penalty (and we'll never know one way or the other) it would have been negated by the goal.
