And are we are still doing that strange Kessel loves cheeseburgers thing (I still don't understand why this started other than Kessel having a wide face).

The answer is that some fans are deeply, deeply stupid.

Good to see that the top line rediscovered their moral character.

Kessel got unfat.

And are we are still doing that strange Kessel loves cheeseburgers thing (I still don't understand why this started other than Kessel having a wide face). If so, I don't think it's a coincidence that Kessel puts up 3 points on the day that Hammond doesn't play.

There can be only one!

Cheeseburgers? Has Kessel been hanging around with Jeff O'Neill?

Maybe because they only have 1 win in their last 7 games. And what, 7 wins total since January. How could they be any more 'tank' like?

Years ago there was a MS paint version of O'Neill on the bench with a cigarette and a cheeseburger.  Every time he opens his mouth and "tells it like it is" I remember how lazy he was as a Leaf and promptly ignore every stupid thing he says.

Do you think Bozak was inspired by finding out that Connor McDavid thought he played like him?

It depends on where we stand on the concept of a player being motivated by someone else. It seems as though the shifting stance depends on whatever can give Phil Kessel the least credit.

LOL...Kessel deserves credit for his performance (as do Bozak and JVR) tonight, pretty much the most inspired effort from them I've seen since...December?Which leaves the obvious question...where has that been for the past 40 games?

The magic switch was stuck in the off position.

I remember the picture, but I must have missed the discussion about Kessel loving cheeseburgers.

I assume this was directed at me and not Nik.

I don't really care how badly they've played. The only thing left to play for is seeding, and for that, I'd rather they lose out the schedule. I'm really not going to gain any sort of pleasure from a Leafs win at this point anyway.

I don't know what happened. I guess I should stop quoting using my phone.

But to think that players are in on 'tanking' is just lunacy.

Yeah, I really doubt they got together as a group and decided "let's play like crap for 40 games so the Leafs can get a good draft pick and develop a better team after we are traded." But some of them may as well have, as demonstrated by the effort level they've put out in 2015.

The mind works in strange ways when motivated.  They were perfect in this game.  Hadn't lost their touch at all.

Obviously, they couldn't do it for the fans, they couldn't do it for Horachek.  But they did it for the boy Gamble (in which they can commended for that).

Now I understand what you are taking issue with. Fair enough. I never expected the players to be in on tanking. Tanking is just another word now for finishing lower in the standings and is mostly in the minds of fans (and a few GMs). I never expected the players to actively try to lose.
