The goalie is the last line of defense, often having to bail out his team-mates.  Just didn't do it on 2 plays now.

How is he supposed to stop a shot he didn't see until after it hit the post and banked in off him? It wasn't even a shot on goal there's not much he could have done other than be lucky to have had it hit him originally.

Better positioning, he is often out of position, that is his problem, that and rebounds.

I've never seen/read about his positioning being a problem, especially not in regards to shots that miss the net (the mesh).

A goalie that can't see the puck is a bit of a problem.
