Well, that confirms it. 4 innings is the longest I can watch minor league baseball on television.

I made it to the top of the 4th. Pretty much unbearable.

I found more amusement, by a small amount, musing whether the imaginary name Barwin Darney was more fitting of a Hobbit or a Dwarf.

I never really decided.

My amusement was laughing at all the regulars sipping drinks out of big Orioles cups in the dugout.  Soda pop of course.

What is wrong with Gibbons?  I haven't seen a worse lineup and not once did he pinch hit for one of our actual players late in the game.  I wanted to see Bautista try and hit drunk home runs.

Drew Hutchison is making a spot start.  Partly because David Price is hung-over.  Price is expected to start Game 1 of the Tampa series.  That's notable because it pretty much prevents Buehrle from hitting 200 innings unless he throws a complete game.

This was to be expected; pressure-free, for the most part.

Hey they were talking about doing that before the party!  To avoid too big of a gap between his starts.

Price is probably hung-over though.

If it's something he's really concerned about or the team really wants for him, they could conceivably bring him in as a reliever in game 162 - which would probably be the day he'd be having a bullpen session any way. My guess, though, is that everyone is more focused on him being well rested and in good form for the playoffs.

It'll be interesting to see if Buehrle even makes the post-season roster.

I think he really should. Use him like they used Jimmy Key in '92.

I'm shocked Kawasaki is upright, let alone in today's starting lineup.

Poor Chris Colabello.  He's the only (semi)regular player in the lineup today.

Not surprising in any way but the Jays are losing 4-1 because their bad hitters can't hit.  Hutchison somehow found a way to fail in a meaningless road game giving up 3 runs over 1.0 inning of work.

Well he was pitching in a literal downpour.  Was barely able to throw it over the plate, was ridiculous they were even playing.

Eesh.  Yeah.  I hadn't seen it, only the box-score but just saw the video.  Joe West is unbelievably incompetent.  Also Buck Shoewalter playing his starters in all three games of the series.  That's pretty funny.

The Orioles really had no reason not to play their starters. They're still trying to win ball games.

They shouldn't be. Once the Jays clinched, the O's didn't have to pretend that it's not in their best interest to lose and try to improve their draft position.
