Stanley Cup Final: Boston vs. St. Louis

This is a very cool time lapse of coaching effect (in the thread)

Ours already looks like their final form and then some, aside from defense.

Ah, those last three little words....
Took St Louis years to build that core. Leafs are on their way.

Has a team ever traded a player who immediately won the Conn Smythe award the season he was traded away like O'Reilly from Buffalo?  I know Leafs nearly did with Phil, I mean a lot of people felt Kessel should have won it in 2016.  Any other examples?
It's happened a times but the first time for a skater. I remember hearing Glenn Hall and Bernie Parent even though Parent came from the WHA.

Then imagine how much better we would be if our coach just coached rather than being the center.

Always fun to see the cup awarded. It's impossible not to imagine what it would be like to have the Leafs hoist the cup.

My favorite plot lines to the win were: Bouwmeester (I was advocating the Leafs trade for him at one point, from scratch to 30 minutes in game 7 of the Stanley Cup final), O'Reilly (called Buffalo out and was traded and went on to win leaving Buffalo in his dust), O'Reilly swears (apologizes 18 times, so Canadian), Maroon (choosing to take less money to play in his hometown and be closer to his son, see Marner... karma is real), Gloria song, Laila, Binnington arrives out of no where, Canadians on the team, Saskatchewan, Bozak (especially his boy), the fans, former Blues in attendance, Steen (that trade worked out for them), interim coach wins, and last place to Champs.

Couldn't tell from his post game comments. That's for sure. They took his dreams!

Someone probably told DeBrusk not to say this but, you know, memory loss and all.

Between the Bruins losing and the Raptors winning it was a fairly great 24-48 hours

Ken Campbell: I miss the good ol' days when all players did with the Cup was snort coke out of it. Show it some respect!

I'm not a pearl clutching traditionalist but I do sort of agree in general with Campbell. For most of the season the cup has a dedicated handler who has to wear white gloves while touching it but then on players days it's "Fill it up with poop and dog food, whatever" which doesn't particularly bother me but it is a little weird.

I mean the whole white glove thing seems to be more for show than anything else. And it's so steeped in tradition the guy can't just stop using them. The Cup can obviously withstand a beating I'm sure fingerprints aren't an issue.

The Cup's been through a lot though, I mean it has that whole history of being left on the side of the road for god sakes lol. How many babies have taken a poop inside it?

Celebratory Bonfire
14 OF 16
In 1962, the Toronto Maple Leafs were on top of the hockey world.

During the celebratory bonfire, the club mistakenly used the Stanley Cup as fire wood, dropping the hardware into the fire. The Leafs had to pay for the significant damage done to the Cup in the process.

Omg I'm dying.
