Nobody hated the Connolly signing here more than I did/do here and even I wouldn't agree.
If we didn't already have Connolly's contract on the books I'd be interested. I think he's a pretty underrated player.

Yeah, I just don't see the point. One year of Connolly is much better than having Jokinen around past that.
Edit: Sorry, I realize that may sound confusing.... I mean, we only have one year left of TC. Why lock up another 3rd line center at what would likely be a lofty cap hit when the opportunity exists to shed salary a year from now?

I agree but I'd say that's way more an indictment of Connolly than Jokinen. I've always thought Jokinen is one of those guys where people focus on what he can't do as opposed to what he can.
If Jokinen were signing a contract similar to his last one with the Flames I'd probably rather have him for 6 over 2 than Connolly for 5 and 1.
