Honestly Dexter is starting to get really predictable.  I'm excited for season 7 for reasons I can't say but you will know if you're caught up on Dexter but still season six felt like a bit of a letdown in terms of the quality and predictability.

I think Dexter has really gone downhill from season 5 onwards. Watching Seasons 1-2 compared to now you would think it's a totally different show.

Dexter suffers from "no balls" syndrome. Since season 2 (with acception two Rita's death) there has been zero progression with the character of Dexter. If we subtract the ending of season with trinity and only have watched season 1 and season 2, you could have began this last season without really missing anything. Debra finding out about Dexter should have happened in season 3 or 4.

Spent my holidays catching up on television shows that premiered in 2011.

American Horror Story: A decent show that feels like it could have been a whole lot better. A great concept that just seemed to lose control as it approached seasons end. I think if they slowed it down a little, it could have been a memorable experience. It seems like Ryan Murphy has to inject steroids into all his work. He comes up with great ideas and casts the characters very well. He than jams too much into a little space.

New Girl: Definatly not the target audience, but, the main character came across as extremely annoying when she is supposed to be cute and charming. A typical romantic comedy type show that replays all the cliques with different faces on the usual characters.

Since Boxing Day, I've watched 21 episodes of Dexter, completing Season 3 just now... 36 episodes to go! Great show but I'm getting kind of Dextered out... Need to slow down a bit.

I totally disagree. I feel Dexter's character has completely changed. I don't want to get into too deep because I don't want to spoil anything for Sarge or anyone who is not caught up to season 6. But to say Dex has had zero character progression is off IMO.

For Sherlock fans the new season started last week, episode 2 is tomorrow and the last one next sunday.

"A Scandal in Belgravia" was inventive, well written and acted, I really enjoyed it.

I don't know where I've found the time but since Boxing Day, I've gone from season 2, episode 4 through season 5, episode 7 of Dexter. - That's 40 episodes in 15 days.  :o

I did 4 seasons of Sons of Anarchy in around 2 weeks.

56 episodes.

Jesus... Crazy. Once I'm done Dexter (17 episodes to go) I don't know whether to go on to SOA or Breaking Bad... I haven't watched an episode of either.

think it's time to bring back tour of duty for me again, did any of you watch that show?

YES! What a great show that was.
Yep, too bad there were only 3 seasons.

Man it felt like about 8 seasons back when I was a kid.  Pretty intense stuff for a 10'ish year old kid. I remember being blown away by it.

I've watched all of both, hard to say as they're both good shows but I think I'd say Breaking Bad if I had to choose.

Game of Thrones is a good one too if you haven't seen it yet.

Louie is another tv show that I really like, great interview with CK here where he deconstructs the entire 2nd season...

I was the opposite, I preferred SOA, but I also have a crush on Tara so that might skew my judgement.

Louie is a great show too.

I think I knew her from Mad Men before I watched SOA, she was good in that too, well worth watching.

Yea, I think she was a perspective client in Mad Men, a department store or something.

Mad Men returns March 2nd btw.

It all depends on your taste, if you want a bit more action etc then i would go for SOA. If you are ok with the plot being a bit slower at times but much more detailed then BB is the way to go. Cranston is amazing in that show and so are so many of the little sub characters.

i'm currently waiting on the complete Homicide:Life on the Street series to be done dlding. That was an amazing show and worth a rewatch.
