I see Faska had shot up to #7.  He might be the best/safest pick at the centre ice position in the draft. It might be just plain old good sense to take this kid.

I think the opposite is true.

Any reason? He's a pretty talented fella with zero injury concerns, no?

He's been out for about a week and a half with a concussion. Now word on his recovery.

Anyways, I've always said we need to go with the guy with the highest ceiling, and that's not Faksa.

Didn't Damian Cox get some inside info on the Leafs liking Faksa in the 5-7 range?

No idea.  :-\

He pretty much said that the Leafs would be targeting Grigorenko, Gally, or Faksa. Which isn't exactly breaking news as they're the top centres.

I've heard from people I know who are pretty on with their assessments of players that he's being quite a bit overrated.

Yeah because he heard they were scouting him heavily.  ::)  I can guarantee the Leafs and every other team within range have heavily scouted every player they think might be around when they pick.

So, question;  I looked but could not find any info on previous years lottery and how many times has a team moved up or down?

You are lazy.

Faksa ended the season out with a serious head (concussion) injury.

I hear Florida's pro scouts have been scouting New Jersey games heavily. They must be interested in Parise this summer.

Inetresting. Though Faska is considered the most "physical" of the 3, no? - Would be nice to have that element in the top 6 group here one day.

Personally, I'm hoping Galchenyuk is still on the board when the Leafs pick... and that they take him.

I'd feel more comfortable with the odds of that happening if we didn't fall to 6 but yeah, I like what I'm reading. No question.

@5, hopefully, one of Galchenyuk or Dumba will be there when we draft. At this point, these are my two top choices at forward and defence respectively at the slot I think they might go. If Grigorenko or Murray is there (and it doesn't look like they will be) then they would obviously become my top choices...

@6, there stands a chance that in addition to Yakupov, all 4 of the guys I mentioned above are gone too so then I guess you go with the guy(s) with the highest ceilings. At forward, I probably take Forsberg and on defence, who knows... Trouba or Ceci? - Might be a bit of a reach there.

Galchenyuk or Forsberg are the 2 I'm hoping for.

Usually, I'm all for taking the best talent, but we really need to cheat a little bit... Time to draft a forward

It's not like this organization has the patience to draft a young d-man and let him develop in the Marlies for a couple years.

Me too. I mean if they win the lottery tomorrow and pick Yakupov I'll be pretty chuffed but I'd take Galchenyuk in a heartbeat.

I think there is a fairly good chance he's still there at 5, but part of me is scared to death of watching Youtube videos of Bryan Murray asking Burke if Galchenyuk is the guy he's going to select.  >:(
