Useless Thread

What was it you said about pro and anti-revolution? ;)

Good for the Catalan people, not surprised to see the disgusting reaction from the Conservatives in the UK and beyond.

I love how the Conservatives are pressing ahead with a potentially catastrophic folly in Brexit as it's "the will of the people" as shown by a referendum.

But don't accept Catalans claim for independence as voted for in a, eh, referendum.

(I know it's not quite as simple as that but still)

My parents adopted my niece who is eleven years younger than me, she was my first younger sibling of sorts, she was kind and smart and had overcome so much in her life.

I got word from home that she has overdosed and is being kept alive on a ventilator, life sucks sometimes, I wish she had called me.

So sorry to hear this.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am amazed, horrified, sad, and maybe even thunderstruck by this story:

This is a lot to unpack.

Currently honeymooning in Cape Town, South Africa. Heading out into the countryside tomorrow to head to a few safari game reserves and the like. As far as places I've visited over the years I would say the scenery and pure beauty of the place is a step ahead of anywhere else I've ever seen. It's a stunning place.

One highlight so far being last night sunset over the South Atlantic Ocean

Agreed. My homeland is a physically beautiful place. Which parks are you heading to? (Also, have some biltong for me - the stuff I can get here isn't as good.)

Have you been to either of the South African specialty shops in Markham?

It kind of depends on time, but definitely stopping off at Knysna elephant reserve and Botlierskop Reserve (where we're staying for a couple of nights). Hoping to also get up to Addo but that may be pushing it just due to time.

We went down the cape today to Boulders Beach (penguins all over the place) and Cape Point where the Atlantic and Indian oceans merge  against stunning places to visit.

Oh and I forgot to mention the food! Incredibly tasty food and so so cheap.

2 of us ate at the five star 12 Apostles Hotel for under ?40 for a main course, desert and 2 drinks. One of those main courses being a fillet steak and the other a local fish dish
