Los Angeles 5 Chicago 4 1OT Kings win series 4 games to 3.
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Kings on being crowned (Western) Conference Champions upon winning the President's Trophy. Wow, what a finish that was, with Alec Martinez the hero, with the series-winning OT goal! Certainly Hollywood itself could not have written a finer script!
A glorious, albeit hard-working never-say-die playoff run culminating into the team's second Stanley Cup appearance in 2 years, and what better way than to clinch a series in dramatic fashion! Oh, boy!
Congratulations too, to the Chicago Blackhawks, on giving hockey fans everywhere plenty of great action culminating in a series well worth it's price. When it all came down to it, a somewhat 'freaky' bounce is what it took to eliminate this NHL powerhouse. Nothing to be ashamed of, that's sports, that's hockey, and you win some, you lose some.
By winning another elimination game, the Kings are now a perfect 7-0.
Bring on the Rangers and let the Stanley Cup Final begin!
