Absolutely pathetic effort in the 2nd. But this lineup.

The Knies-Tavares-Maccelli line is just downright bad.

Rielly is bad on literally every single pairing he gets put on.

Good old Robertson down at the bottom of the lineup for ice time yet again.
 
I for one enjoy watching my favourite team the Wild score at this pace. Me and the other Wild Things (TM) will be incredibly happy with this result when we converse on the topic of hockey at the local establishment where we drink beverages that contain alcohol.
 
What you are looking at is what we've been looking at all season long: a mediocre team (only above .500 because of loser points) that would, in a normal season, be almost out of playoff contention.

I knew they would be worse this year but I still didn't think they'd have to fight hard for a playoff spot.

A responsible management team would be looking to position the team for better results next year.

Rielly told that it's time to move on.
Get a return on either Hildeby or Stolarz (I'd keep Woll)
Move Domi at the deadline or before.
Maybe even trade OEL for a first etc.
Not averse to moving Cowan if the return is good,.

Aside from a couple of hot streaks this year has been a dud.

56 points this time last year is 3rd in the Atlantic, the east hasn't been this tight in years.
 
Well I got bored of watching my favourite team, The Wild, play hockey. This is because they have gone a minute and a half without scoring, so now I am bored. I will be doing something else from this point forward. Cheers everyone, and remember, Wild Thing, you make my heart sing (until you stop scoring, then my heart just beats at a normal pace and I start looking for something to provide adrenaline).

You said in a normal year they'd almost be out of the playoffs, not true, but to be clear no they are nowhere near as good as last year, if they make the playoffs this year I don't expect them to make the 2nd round.

Sorry, one more point, then I am gone.

Maybe the Leafs are trying to be more efficient, and rather than play those extra 7 games in the first round, they'll just miss the playoffs altogether and avoid all that nasty disappointment that comes with losing in a game 7.
 
I'm looking forward to Jacob Quillan putting up 30 points for Tampa next year so we can watch Jarnkrok go for a 12 minute skate every night.
