Wings @ Leafs - Mar. 29th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

If Earth hour is tonight is it possible the game can be shortened by 60 minutes real time to reduce our agony and torture of watching the entire game?

Wilson got a "Fire Wilson" during his losing streak to knock them out of playoffs, will Randy be given same treatment?

If he decides to dress Orr tonight, I will lead the chant!

If the red wings are winning I just shut  the lights out in the ACC.

All other teams are doing the leafs huge favour - Canadiens?, Penguins? and today Bruins? wins over Red Wings, Blue Jackets and Capitals are great. The question is, will the Leafs also chip in by a win.

I'm surprised as the lack of boo'ing involved in some of these games.

I never root for a loss but if they do lose I hope the crowd has enough piss & vinegar in them to get a good randeeeeeee chant going.

I'm rooting for a loss.  I don't care - this team needs serious changes and the more they lose, the more likely changes will happen.

I often think I want them to lose, but once the puck drops, instinct sets in and suddenly I'm cheering for themlike usual.  So, GLG, I guess.

To change the team's fortunes radically, I've done the extreme and disassembled the Christmas tree in the basement today.  Something had to be done.

Not sure if this was just a slip-up or not, but this is from the MapleLeafs.com game preview for tonight's game:

Maple Leafs defenseman Paul Ranger (concussion) is close to a return.

I really dislike backseat doctoring because I really don't have the full story on what goes on after he gets off the ice.  I also fully acknowledge that my personal opinions on concussions and concussion management don't always line up 100% with the current guidelines (I have my reasons for some of that).  But when you look at what happened to Ranger, he was out for a brief period on the ice.  He wasn't moving for the first few instances after the hit.  Then he started kicking his leg.  When they had him on the stretcher his eyes looked glassy even from the TV.

I really feel like teams continue to have this secrecy approach to concussions.  The guy gets his face plowed into the boards.  He is obviously also going to have some neck pain/whiplash symptoms but ultimately he's really suffering from concussion-like symptoms because a lot of them go pretty much hand-in-hand.  And he misses a bunch of time with "injury".

That's my guess.  Make the playoffs once in 8 years.  Choke away a massive series upset in the final 10 minutes.  Then the team is on the verge of blowing things again.  People are going to go to the games regardless but I think its the atmosphere that gets killed because you have the lower bowl who tend to suck regardless of the event...but then the guys in the upper bowl buying tickets off stubhub and scalpers for twice the value of the ticket are watching a team that doesn't even put in an effort most nights.

JVR getting worked over with stickwork in front of the Detroit net with no call.  He nails Smith in retaliation on a big hit in the corner.  I like that kind of response from the team.

You look at the list of wings injuries and again, you've got to think their coaching staff is getting more out of their players than the Leafs are out of theirs.  Our relative good luck with injuries this year is another reason to dislike Carlyle's job (if I haven't mentioned that recently ...)

I've loved JVR's play this season, but man if that guy developed a mean streak...
