No, just generic yet somehow CF-18(ish) I think.

Either way I don't mind it. My drummer's dad was a fighter pilot and a candidate to fly the 206 so maybe I'm just being nostalgic.

I have the complete opposite impression of it - it's trying too hard to be modern, and, well, more and more teams are going retro. On top of that, the J looks really stupid, doesn't flow into the E naturally and the T does not flow into the S smoothly, and that's really jarring. Honestly, it looks like something a high school kid fiddling around in Photoshop came up with.

If I didn't know that the team was named the Jets I'm not sure that first letter of the cursive script would immediately jump out to me as being a J.

I am not a fan of it, but most of the fans of the team seem to like it and thats what matters.
Bender said:At the very least they didn't go for any of the crazy colored, asymmetrical designs, like that crappy Buffalo the Sabres had for a while or that tribal Coyote in Phoenix. I'm sure as the team matures the jersey designs will get better, much like Minnesota's new jersey or Columbus' third jersey.
Busta Reims said:I really like the secondary logo and I don't hate the primary one (though, I don't love it either), but I really dislike the way they've done the team name in the text logo. It just doesn't look right.
Bullfrog said:You have to look at the word as a total image though. I doubt anyone, even those few who look at it and don't know it's the Jets' logo, would read that word as anything other than 'Jets.'

Saint Nik said:Fair enough. I was more making a point about the script in general. A sloppy J and a crooked e doesn't stop me from reading it as Jets but it makes it look pretty messy all the same.

The T and S meeting at a hardpoint instead of flowing into each other just adds to that - especially considering the top of the S is flat and the bottom is rounded. THe whole thing is poorly executed, in my opinion.
Saint Nik said:I agree, especially about the s. Again, can you read it as an S? Sure, but it's still a weird amalgam of almost letters.
The shame of it is that the old jets logo is actually pretty clever where the J in jets is also the I in Winnipeg and a hockey stick.
