?Kyle (Palmieri) brings an all-around game that we?re confident will fit nicely with the framework we?re looking to build,? said Dean Lombardi, general manager of Team USA and also the general manager of the NHL?s Los Angeles Kings. ?He?s coming off an outstanding year in New Jersey and will play an important role with our team.?

He had to of, otherwise the decision making process here looks really bad.Frank E said:CarltonTheBear said:Not-Phil-Kessel added to the US team as Callahan's replacement: http://teamusa.usahockey.com/news_article/show/671487?referrer_id=701370

I'll bet that Kessel declined.

Right now there are single game tickets available to all the games. I thought about buying tickets but I'm not convinced it's worth it. I still don't get the young guns team made of players from countries already competing? I think it's dumb that a young gun can't play for his own country's team. The patriotism gets lost for me and the best teams from each country are not necessarily reflected.Zee said:The only good thing about this tournament is the fact I get to watch hockey earlier in the year than normal.

Just don't like Canadians versus Canadians and I wish McDavid was on Canada. It will only be this year apparently, next world cup will include only countries which qualify for the tournament, no "all star" teams.CarltonTheBear said:cabber24 said:I think it's dumb that a young gun can't play for his own country's team. There's probably only two players on the Young Guns group that would have made his countries team (McDavid for Canada, Gaudreau for the US).

bustaheims said:I don't know if I'd day it's dead, but I think it's not going to be a guarantee every Olympics from now on. I get the impression that the league isn't super interested in going to Korea or Beijing, but after that, who knows?
CarltonTheBear said:If the next two World Cups are a success then I'd say it's basically dead. I don't think the NHL loved the hassle that the Olympics brought even when the location was more convenient. So come 2026 if they've skipped the last 2 games and people have bought into the World Cup then I think they'll just act like that's the status quo.

Niklas Kronwall is out of World Cup 2016 due to injury. Hampus Lindholm takes his spot on Team Sweden. #WCOH2016

Yeah, that's unfortunate, particularly since he's their only true elite left-handed defenceman.
Giordano may have been my choice to replace him but obviously they're counting on some familiarity there with Pietrangelo.
