I was impressed with him as well. In the last minute against the USA top center men Gauthier easily won the faceoffs.

For some reason I thought today's game was a Quarterfinals match. Still preliminaries.

Canada plays the 4th place team in the other group.

Yay! That's more like it. I don't want to see the Americans again. Unless I'm watching them play someone in the relegation round O:-)
 
Big win for Canada today. They finish 1st in Group A. Format change this year means no bye to the Semis as 8 teams advance to medal round. Germany and Norway play best of 3 to see who gets relegated. Canada's QF opponent not confirmed until Finland and Switzerland finish, but it's looking like the Swiss. US will get Russia, Sweden gets Slovakia and Czechs will play Finland.

I'm not 100% sure, but, I don't think Canada can face the US again unless it's in a medal game.

Canada can't face the US again until the gold medal game. If the seeds hold serve in the quarters, the semis are CAN-FIN and SWE-USA.
