I was thinking Corrado actually, but Michalek makes more sense. Corrado always looked more lost than surly.

His second sentence was pretty KGB.

I genuinely forgot about Corrado, but yeah that would make sense too of course.

Laich as well, to a degree.
Basically anyone that had the misfortune of speaking to David Alter/The Athletic about playing/not playing got the waive.

NZ: No, not once.

AS: And what about Don Cherry?

NZ: OK I get it. I understand very well who is Don Cherry. He?s a showman, he works for a popular channel and he says something fun, but he has convinced me many times that he doesn?t watch the games.

The best thing maybe of following the link to the interview was to see the transliterated URL to the original Russian:

http://www.sport-express.ru/hockey/nhl/reviews/nikita-zaycev-kritika-dona-cherri-on-ne-smotrit-matchi-toronto-1249825/

Lots of us have been pretty kritika of Dona Cherri.

I love this so much, I don't even care how well he plays now.

And just a few other delightful turns of phrase from the interview (and I am not trying to be condescending, they are just fun):

It turned out that in golf there is such a tradition to give a green jacket to the player with the biggest minus rating.

The most important thing for me is to be able to watch my teammates in their eyes.

In March we lost to Florida by a 2-7 score. That day I played really bad.

Goals and assists were the least things to worry me. Yes, I had some chances to run forward, but that happened fairly rarely.

AS: Did you dance yourself?

NZ: No, I did not, but we have some skillful guys.

In part, it comes from Russia. Since I always played there I didn?t pick up the habit yet that a frowning face is not an indicator of a hard worker.

AS: In what way is Babcock different from other coaches?

NZ: He has an incredible experience.

No, no, I?m truly glad to be spending long years in Canada.

AS: And the last thing. I visited Toronto different times and I always noticed that there is always a lot of people on the street.

NZ: Yes, it?s like that. It seems to me that they truly enjoy this lifestyle. People (are) going somewhere even on nights.
