Season should be done soon

Welcome to Toronto, Connor, so you never have to face these turds in the finals* again :)

* because you’ll never make the finals again?

Let's go! The guy that signed for almost the same cap hit as Matthews for 8 years, compared to Matthews' 4-year contract, just scored his 4th OT goal of this playoffs! Just a little factoid that I thought was interesting.

DUDE! He signed for $750,000 more! That's almost enough to sign a league minimum guy!

That’s not an unfair comment, and his playoff numbers are unreal. But why does he get a pass for have 0 goals and 1 point in 7 games in the finals last season. Because he was playing injured? That’s ok for non leafs players?

I'm sure Oilers fans weren't happy with that performance but 52 goals and 140 points in 94 playoff games now. Having one bad round isn't the same as consistently having one bad round every year.

Yeah absolutely, his playoff numbers are through the roof. But it’s the worst round to have a bad round.

But I was dead wrong about this guy, I said I wouldn’t trade him straight up for Matthews. I’m not even sure Matthews would be enough to trade for him.

It's a little crazy that the two best players of the most recent eras (Crosby and McDavid) each had another centre behind them who at times was as good as any other player in the league (Draisaitl a little more than Malkin but still).

As just a fan of the game in both cases I would loved to have seen what the "2C"'s could do leading their own teams, but I don't think either would ever complain about their situations.

I feel like a lot of the great teams of all time were built like that. Gretzkey-Messier, Sakic-Forsberg, Yzerman-Federov, etc.

Two-best tandems? Lemieux/Jagr, Gretzky/Messier? Weird how that happens.

Same teams too. 😳

I think the Oilers have this now. Coming back from 0-3 on the road and winning that game is huge. Anything can still happen but I predict Oilers win game 5, and then they have 2 chances to close it out.

There was something comical about the 3-2 goal being scored while Skinner held onto Kulikov's stick for a good 15 seconds. The Panthers have had their fill and then some of egregious non-calls but how that wasn't a penalty was absurd.

Pickard was incredible (although he was definitely swimming on the game tying goal)
