Dragging the Cup Finals out like this seems incredibly stupid when the weather keeps getting warmer and the ice quality gets worse.

Game 1 was June 4 and if this series goes to 7 games it won't finish until June 20th.
Not to mention that both series were done on May 29th so there were 6 days between the end of the WCF and Game 1.

I'm not ready to abandon all All-Stars games. I'd look to do a NHL vs AHL all-star game. NHL vs Russian Hockey League (and the other top euro leagues) or go back to the Stanley Cup winner vs Rest of the League.

What I really want is a mid-season 3-on-3 tournament between all the NHL teams.

An off-season 3-on-3 tournament - not team affiliated, but with things like Team McDavid, Team Matthews, Team MacKinnon, etc. - could be fun. No need to prolong the season for it.

All Star games suck. They're boring. Expand the skills competition and leave the game out of it.

I just meant he’d be a bit faster than Perry.

But Hyman was playing opposite Marner, who generally ignored him at 5v5 unless it was a breakaway drop pass. Hyman was also usually broken by the playoffs.
