Marner to Vegas is finally happening

3000 years ago, who cares? Lou was gone eons ago, and Marner got paid?

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Boone Jenner has an expiring deal. Great 2 way player and faceoff guy. Isn't Reilly the puck-moving dman we're looking for? I think his use can be freed up a bit more, considering the similar style of the rest of the D.

    2025 Blue Jays

Small ball is back! I have enjoyed the bottom half of the order engineering runs. I find the Jays much more easier to watch because of the low expectations. When they were supposed to be good and they weren't, it was a tough watch.

Shhhhhhhhh, I'm afraid to acknowledge what's happening. It's been a lot of fun to watch of late.

Marner to Vegas is finally happening

I think about EDM coming up short with the lack of depth scoring, similar to TOR. I am okay with spreading the cap around if it means more depth. FLD has 11 guys making more than $5M. Depth matters. FLD is a team, not a few stars with filler.

He certainly seemed to be progressing defensively, and he can score.

Marner to Vegas is finally happening

I don't even think it was the worst thing to see him play out the contract. We came within a game of beating the eventual champs. Teams usually let contracts ride out if they believe they have a legitimate shot. If we won, he would probably come back. What would the Leafs have to pay Rantanen...

Marner to Vegas is finally happening

Just read Marner’s statement and REALLY appreciate him taken some ownership with the lack of results. All the best, I hope he finds that killer instinct.

Marner to Vegas is finally happening

Anyways…. $12M, what terrible value the Leafs got. Love the kid but hate how this went down. He just stunk in the playoffs and he didn’t earn his contract. Wish him the best, I wished it worked here but it just didn’t.

He was great value and played almost every game. I want him back.

Maybe in the new cba there will be a rule about blatant head shots and running goalies.

John Tavares is still a Maple Leaf [4 years, $4.38mil AAV]

It's unbelievable this happened here in Toronto.

I am worried about Reilly. Berube pulled back on his offense, focusing on team D, and when he let him play more offensively again, it was the same old Reilly. Maybe he gets deployed in a bottom 6 role and plays the PP (Marner gone).

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

I am not convinced I would want Dobson on the Leafs roster at $9.5M.

My new favourite Leaf all time! A great value contract!?!?! In Trev we trust! lol... honestly thrilled at this number.

MLSE part ways with Masai Ujiri

The whole city of Toronto takes a hit when Masai Ujiri leaves town. He is a great man and was an asset to the city of Toronto.

    2025 Offseason Thread: Spring Cleaning

I know, I read he could get $8M as a UFA. The Leafs contracts given and asset management have been horrendous. The Leafs cannot continue to compound the problem they created. Value needs to take precedence when signing contracts. JT will feel and wear the wrath of Leafs nation if he gets $8M.

Ottawa has some good contracts for gambling on long-term contracts on unproven talent. We just wait, "if you have time, use it", Dubas repeatedly quoting Lou.
