Dirty knee-on-knee hit by Taylor Hall on Cal Clutterbuck.  Doesn't look good.

Looks to me like a hip check that didn't connect right.  I'm curious to see what the league thinks.

I don't know about the knee on knee being intentional. What is curious is what the league will think of the fact that Clutterbuck didn't have the puck(never really played it) and that he had no idea Hall was coming. I know the 'vulnerable player' rule usually only applies to head shots, but this may be a case where it's used as well. Clutterbuck was looking for the puck that got lost in his feet and Hall took advantage.

If it was, it was one of the worst executed hip checks in the history of the game. Clutterbuck didn't change direction at all after Hall had him lined up and was going in for the hit. I think Hall was legitimately trying to take him out.

I think a lot of the hits similar to this(open ice with the player's head down) are attempts to take the opposing player out.
I just can't see Hall risking his own knee to try and take out another player's.

The knee-on-knee was probably accidental, but, I think he knew there was a good chance he'd do some serious damage to Clutterbuck's legs in one way or another. I don't think that part of it was accidental.

The more I watch it, the worse and worse the check looks. Considering Hansen got one for the forearm on Hossa, you'd have to think, if Shannahan was serious about suspensions, that Hall would get at least 3.

That was a terrible hit.  Hall should get at least 3 games.  Knee on knee is another sure-fire way of ending  a player's season.

Watching the Jets-Flyers game with the Flyers feed. The Flyers play-by-play man sounds like Jerry Seinfeld. I can't get past that.

Well, this is the best Harlem Shake video ever made:

The Blackhawks have set two NHL records -- best start to a season, and longest point streak (in which they registered at least a point in the first 17 games of the season).

The above record eclipses that set by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2006-07 season.

Pat Quinn's Flyers started the 1980 season with 25 wins, 10 ties, no losses. The Flyers had a streak of 35 games with at least a point. I'm not sure where the Hawks record fits in with that or what they're reasoning is behind claiming the longest point streak.

I thought they were referring to franchise records, but their articles clearly say NHL record.

Tip to hockeyfan1: providing a link to the article in question would be helpful!
