Fills a bit of a gap on the right side for the Pens...wouldn't be the worst thing they could do, that's for sure. Not sure if Doan would consider playing in Pittsburgh?

I have to wonder if this doesn't push Doan towards the Rags.

That would be...yeah...a decent top 6 :)

;D Does Charles Wong even notice these kinds of things? I mean, what a shot at a team, I'd be embarrassed.

As a longtime Islander fan, I can say that I don't blame Visnovzky
for not wanting to join a team currently in the 'boondocks' of hockey.  (Charles Wang, when he first bought the team, he didn't know a hockey puck if he saw one).

The fact that the Islanders are still languishing in the bottom of the NHL ladder -- after years of having dubious owners who even went to jail (before Wang ever came along) -- shows one just how much progress this team has made.  Not having a newly-built arena yet, after years of wrangling withcity council on a more logical and feasible build, speaks  volumes  of the organization's reputation, even to it's very own supporters.  (sigh)  ::)

Where is that site where you can see who a player generally plays with?

Some Flyers fan on another site it claiming that Matt Read is in for a huge season because he was "a 4th line player last year".

Judging solely by the numbers, the guy averaged more than 17 minutes a game!  He had the 3rd highest total ice time of any Flyer forward.  He had around 2:30 of PP time a game.  He was 3rd on the team in PK time for forwards.

I just don't see how he played with guys like Rinaldo.  He was definitely a top 6 or 9 forward.

I think that's what this is:

Among Philly forwards he ranked 10th in EV ice-time and 8th in PP ice-time. With Jagr and JVR leaving, those numbers will likely rise. I don't know enough of him as a player to say if that will result in increased scoring, but the opportunity will be there. Especially if he gets a shot on Giroux's line.

Chris Mason's "amazing" mask...

Am I the only one who thinks these "arty" goalie masks are unfailingly stupid?  Probably.

Linus Omark signs 1 year deal in Switzerland. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=404077

I would have liked Burke to have gone after him. He's got the skill.

He would have been looking for guaranteed playing time, or close to it, and our forward group is crowded as it is.

That's true. I would have liked to see Omark on the third line. Omark has been my dark horse for awhile.

A third line of Frattin-Kadri-Omark would at least be fun.
