Don't look now, but the Blue Jackets are 6-0-4 in their last 10 and are only 2 pts out of a playoff spot!  :o

Would be awesome if the Blue Jackets made the playoffs and the Rangers didn't.

If the Rangers win their next game there would be a 4-way tie from 6-9th in the East with 32 points in 29 games.

Only if they win in regulation, since they'll be playing New Jersey, who are currently in 8th. The Rangers passing the Devils would also be the only actual change to the standings.

Here is a look at NHL logos gone minimalist:

Anaheim is 20-3-3.  After that streak, Chicago is only 4 up on them, and have played 1 more game.

I was looking at that a few days ago. Chicago seems to be getting all the press, but Anaheim is having a remarkable season.

I like that the Leafs logo is still basically the Leafs logo.

Thanks Nik.

Some of the logos I can'r recognize. Here goes:

First row, fourth logo: sabres?
Second row, third logo: ?
Third row, sixth logo: ??
Last row, second, forth and fifth logos: no idea.

First row, fourth logo: Nashville (it's a guitar pick)
Second row, third logo: Washington
Third row, sixth logo: Columbus
Last row, second, forth and fifth logos: Florida, Chicago, Edmonton

It seems strange that they laid them out like that. The first vertical row is the Atlantic division, the second has 4 of the 5 from the Northeast, the third 4 out of 5 from the Southeast, the fourth 4 out of 5 from the Central, then the last two they jumble together the Northwest and the Pacific.

I mean, they are a design firm.

Thanks. Should've guessed Florida and Edmonton (oil drop).

That's quite the boost for his junior team. Especially since I think they only have one or two more games before the playoffs start. And this way the Sabres should be able to get him on their AHL team for the playoffs when Quebec's season is complete.

It's still ridiculous that that they kept him this long and burned a year of his ELC though

TSNBobMcKenzie: I missed this when BUF sent Grigorenko to QMJHL. Had he played 1 more NHL game (23rd), season would have counted towards free agency.

TSNBobMcKenzie: In full NHL season, 40 GP counts as "year's service" toward 7 req'd for UFA status. In lockout shortened season, it's 23. Grigs played 22.

At least they didn't make that mistake as well. Burning a year of his ELC was stupid enough for them.

I agree that attitudes need changing.  For example. ..

..shocking attitudes among the players. In one interview cited by Boston.com, a member of the team told the task force, ?You don?t ask (permission for sex) when you are drunk.?

"Puck bunnies" (females), status & privileges, guy attitudes, etc., the article tells it like it is...

This morning McKenzie tweeted that it was 23 games of simply being on the roster, so UFA comes one year earlier (vs RFA), if I read that correctly.

I'm not sure he's correct about that, to be honest, but, if he is, then, yes, they screwed up big time.

That's a bit strong. It's still six years away and most guys sign away their first few UFA years anyway.

The timing of it though makes it seem like maybe Buffalo thought it was games played, not games on the roster. If that's the case then yeah, they screwed up big time.

It could just be a coincidence though.

Well, really, outside of leaving him in the pressbox for the rest of the season or giving him away for nothing, it would pretty much be the biggest possible mistake they could make in this situation.

The price goes way up for those UFA years though.
