In the several times I watched Jared, I was never impressed with him. He seemed to have an attitude and you never knew which guy was showing up to play. His skating was lacking as well.

He's a 4th line, depth guy at best. But, the Canes are out of it, so this is really just an opportunity to get him into a game with his brothers against his other brother's team - even though Marc won't be playing.

MolinariPG: Carolina has recalled Jared Staal, younger brother of Eric, Marc and Jordan, from AHL. He is expected to make NHL debut Thursday.

I want to see all three of them on the same line.

And in a couple years they might have their other brother coming in FA too. That would be an interesting team to watch. Maybe mad chemistry like with the Sedins.

Are there set bonuses with Staals like in Monopoly or Diablo?

So the "prize" for Pittsburgh and Boston/Montreal/Toronto for finishing 1st and 2nd in the conference means a date with the Rangers.  That's a team I would not want to face in a 1st round matchup.

At least a group discount on suncreen anyway.

The Wild got crushed at home by the Oilers tonight. Detroit in 7th with 54 pts, Minny and Columbus with 53, one game left each. The plot thickens!

Avs win the draft lottery.

I'm sure they'll go the defenceman route and take Seth Jones. They could be a dangerous team in another season or two ...

Hey, guys. Have a spare 300 bucks sitting around? Well, have you ever considered becoming a Florida Panther's season ticket holder?

Panthers season tickets for just 7 dollars a game

Worried that you won't be getting good value? Not to worry. Your ticket package includes a free jersey and tickets to four concerts.

I don't know, I can handle 5 or 6 bucks a game, but 7 is a little too rich for my blood.

It's cool though.  The Leafs will just increase ticket prices from $115 to $135 in the nosebleeds to make up the increased equalization payments.  I'm really getting tiredof these deadbeat franchises that exist on the backs of fans in actual hockey markets.

Pfft, it's not as if the league was willing to shut down the sport to protect these teams.

The rest of the award winners were announced:

Hart - Ovechkin
Lindsay - Crosby
Vezina - Bobrovsky
Calder - Huberdeau

Logan Couture signed a long term contract extension with SJ

Apparently Pavel Datsyuk is close to signing a ~3 year extension with Detroit

Read on another site that Bobrovsky has been offered $10m per year to play for a KHL team.

I heard Bob McKenzie last night that he's confident The Roberto Luongo situation gets resolved before the 5th and he's moved. Any guesses where?

The Islanders, straight up for DiPietro.

Although as much as I like the DiPietro suggestion when I look at the list of teams near the bottom of the payroll rankings there is one team that sticks out as going to need a goalie, that will need to spend to hit the cap floor and might actually be intrigued by the idea of having a 40 year old Roberto Luongo counting for 5 million of the cap but only paying him a million or so and that's Phoenix.
