2012 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

Just a question for all of us Jays fans:

How well would Darvish have helped the Jays if they had had him?

Well, outside of the series in Texas over the weekend, starting pitching hasn't really been the problem for the Jays, so, probably not all that much.

Seems that Davis will be the everyday left fielder for the time being.

Probably the best defensive outfield we can put out there and Davis' bat has been good enough to replace Thames who's struggling.

Yeah, I think the surprises at the bottom end have by in large outweighed the disappointments at the top end to the point where overall, I'm satisfied with the group as a whole.

Darvish right now is at 1.1 BWAR. The worst SP is Hutchison at -0.6. So two wins, give or take.

You seem to use this stat as gospel, do you know how this number is arrived at?

What in the name of Fats Waller?!... Well that's good.

Well, McCoy's really only up to give the Jays more options, just in case Johnson or Escobar can't go or need to come out of a game, and Thames wasn't even hitting his weight in May, so . . .

See, I thought Escobar (though day-to-day) was going to miss a good stretch.

If that was true, they probably would have brought up Hech.

Griffin commented on that:

Richard Griffin ‏@RGriffinStar

Farrell asked if either SS or 2B DL'd. Said #jays would discuss Hechavarria. Apparently he has a couple more days of US citizenship issues.

Bottom three guys in the Jays lineup have 8 of the 9 hits through 5 innings. The line: 8 for 9, 4 runs, 6 RBI.

Pretty darn impressive!

Edit: While these three feast, the top four are 0-11, including poor Kelly Johnson who has struck out three times in a row, leaving six men on base, including runners at 2nd and 3rd with less than two outs (twice).
