2014/15 Roster moves thread

Holzer it is. Again Percy and Granberg are both hurt in case anybody was wondering.

Good chance we have both Lupul and Booth in the line-up Wednesday.

Lines at practice today:

David Alter ‏@dalter  10 minutes ago
#leafs lines: JVR-Bozak-Kessel, Komarov-Kadri-Santorelli, Winnik-Holland-Clarkson, Lupul-Smith-Booth, ex Leivo, Panik Kozun

Lupul likely moves to the Kadri line closer to game day, but this does show that the team is leaning towards keeping Smith in the line-up and having both Holland and Santorelli in the top-9. If it was up to me I'd go:

JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Lupul-Kadri-Komarov
Booth-Holland-Santorelli
Winnik-Smith-Clarkson

I'm sceptical about Booth, but may as well give him a shot on the 3rd line to start.

I see he got a goal in his first game with the Marlies, and 7 shots on goal in his second, but how did he look?  Did anyone see him play?

mirtle: Leafs have recalled Brandon Kozun from his conditioning stint. He scored for the Marlies last night.

I would have left him there, since there really isn't a spot in the lineup for him now, but, I guess they have to do this so they can put him on waivers to officially send him down. Remains to be seen if that's what's going to happen.

It seems like a pretty easy decision with him. I'd say he's below Panik on the depth chart right now. Maybe the team just wants an extra forward in warm-ups tonight just in case something happens.

Percy has been held pointless and is a minus-10 in nine games with the Marlies this season.

Ouch.  I know some players translate their game better at the NHL level than the AHL level, but that is pretty bad.  Less than half the Marlies games, and the worst +/- on the team.

FAN590Walker: With imminent return of Polak/Komarov/ Ashton, #Leafs will place Brandon Kozun on waivers today. Won't clear if someone needs PK help.

I doubt he gets picked up. He's hasn't shown himself to be anything more than an injury call up type.

Honestly I wouldn't even mind if somebody watched him in preseason and thinks he could be a good pick-up. Would be nice to clear a contract off the reserve list.

True, though, I feel like he could be a useful addition to the Marlies.

Yeah that's fair. Although the Marlies need a centre more than anything else right now. The other day they had Carrick-Froese-Manderson-McMillan down the middle and no I didn't just make those last 3 names up.
