2018-19 Trade Talk

Problem last year was Renne crapped the bed against the Jets. I'm sure Poile is looking tho.

I'm sure that's a compelling narrative and undoubtably Renne wasn't at his best but the team only scored 19 goals in 7 games in that series so the problem runs a little deeper than just goaltending. Especially when Winnipeg is still around with a high powered offense.

Couple of small deals done recently. Ryan Hartman from Philly to Dallas for Tyler Pitlick and Calvin De Haan to Chicago for Anton Forsberg.

I remember some people being high on De Haan to come here for a bit. Not a great looking contract though.

Made a small adjustment to the titles :P

Anyway this actually seems like a pretty good trade for Buffalo. I remember Jokiharju getting a lot of hype when he started the season up with Chicago. While (alex) Nylander's numbers in the AHL aren't super promising so far. He probably shouldn't have been thrown into the AHL at 18.

Chicago sends Anisimiov to Ottawa for Zack Smith.

Not a big fan of Anisimov's contract but I guess it doesn't matter much to the Sens.

He's due less than Smith over the rest of their contracts, that's what matters to the Sens.

Yup. He's a slight upgrade in offensive skill, too. They're clearly not concerned about the cap, but the cheapskate-in-chief definitely has strong feelings about the bottom line.

Looking at Ottawa's roster right reminds me of an expansion team. And not like the "oh wow they were actually good" one like Vegas'. I mean is Anisimov their 1C now?

They're coming off 2 straight seasons below 70 points, and they had some actual elite talent on the team during those. I can't even fathom how bad they're going to be in this upcoming one.

Watch Connor Brown score 4 goals against us in game 1 while Zaitsev has a 3 point night and Hainsey scores the game winner.

I just realized that Zaitsev and Hainsey are Ottawa's 2 highest paid defencemen.

Well, they are a team.

Well, they are a team.

That seriously needs a new owner.
