Anyone dare to sell high on Hyman?

If it brings, or helps bring, us a RHD of quality, you betcha.  He'll be wanting a raise we can't afford.
I understand the thinking, but geez...who's gonna play that forechecking/digging/net front role if you let Hyman go? The forward group is already very one dimensional, especially since Kadri was traded.

Hyman is one guy I could see signing a team friendly deal. I doubt his shooting percentage is sustainable long term, so chances are his scoring will come back to earth next year and his asking price might be reasonable. On the other hand, he is getting up there toward 30 and with his playing style injuries could become a problem.

Yup for sure. That goes for anyone though. I think Engvall could be a potential replacement for Hyman. Marchment could be another. As always it depends on the return. He's def not a throw in.

Hyman is scoring 0.44 goals/game. Nylander and Tavares are at 0.45/game.

How 'bout, no?

You think he's gonna keep that up? Highly unlikely.
I heard his writing hand was limbering up with all the children's book writing, helping him dish the pucks into the net, like a master pizza maker fires his creations into a wood burning stove.  I hope this helps.  ;)

Engvall hasn't shown much in the way of physical or net front play yet. Maybe he adds that to his game but right now he won't replace what Hyman does. Which is interesting, cause I've always read that he was viewed as a bit of an antagonist in the AHL.

Marchment also...maybe in time could replace what Hyman does but he looked completely underwhelming when he was called up. Maybe too soon after his injury to really make a call on what he might bring.

Thing is, with Hyman...he played "like Hyman" from day one, that's his natural style. Remember Babcock referring to him (and Brown) as an animal. I haven't seen that from Engvall and it may not really be in his nature. We'll see I guess.

I still vote in favour of selling assets that won't be here next year (Barrie).

Barrie -> assets -> Dumba

Something like that (doesn't have to be Dumba, just throwing a name out).  The last step doesn't have to happen in-season, either.  This team should load up for next year.  This year is hexed.
Why would the Wild get out from under Dumba and get not much back?

Did you actually read what I wrote?

Assuming the Leafs can get in at 3rd ATL or one of the Wildcards, who would you most rather play in the 1st round? Whatever it is it'll be yet another conference-final calibre matchup:

a) Boston
b) Tampa Bay
c) Washington
d) Pittsburgh

My preference is the bottom to the top.

Yeah, I'm on the same page there. If there's a market that would give up a first round pick for Barrie as a rental, I'd take it.

Then that pick could be either spent on a D man with term, along with a minor asset or two to a rebuilding club, or simply hold on to it into the draft if no deal can be made. I think of barrie as a luxury for a good defensive team, not a core piece.

They can simply use another forward in his place on the PP, or even Sandin, and perhaps we'd see less unscreened wrist shots from the point go into the goalie's chest protector while Matthews and Nylander stand there open at the top of the circle looking confused.

Is this the Whose Line sketch where we answer each question with a question?

Ok, since you're going to be an ass, let's make this simple.  I did not specify a return.  So, you're interpretation that the Wild "get not much back" comes completely out of your own ass.

What about a Josh Anderson or a Jordan Greenway type of player to play on the Tavares line?  While defence is definitely a priority, I think they need a player with some intangibles on that first line.

Korshkov and Marchment recalled. Interesting.

marchment really doesn?t interest me much but I?m kind of open to Korshkov getting a game at some point.  Less Gauthier is a nice thing.
