2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

- Leafs looking to give Travis Dermott a change of scenery
- EF is guessing 1-2 D additions + a depth forward to bolster the 4th line options
- Extremely reluctant to move the 1st rder or any of the tippy top prospects
- They've been asked about Engvall and Mikheyev and Leafs will not part with them

I consider these to be reasonable stances. I know they were trying to get Simmonds to 1000 games (success), but I do wish we had more track record with Joey Anderson to work with.

Sooooo Dubas wants at least three players that will be better than what they have, for pocket lint, a slightly used paper clip, and a Hubba Bubba gum wrapper?

Yup...let's see what he can do.

This makes me wonder why the Leafs declined to claim Dzingel after the Sharks put him back on waivers. Don't think he would have been a 4th line saviour but seems like a good option to have in the organization, especially since he could have been sent to the Marlies. I like the guys next up in line (Steeves, Seney, Anderson) but Dzingel seems more NHL-ready than they are right now.

All this tinkering is just balloon juice if the goaltending isn't close to what K?llgren has given them so far.  And we can't reasonably expect him to perform like that in the playoffs.  (We can hope, but not expect.)

It kind of all boils down to Campbell, unless they are Boltishly trading two firsts and two prospects for M-A F.

I just don?t believe MAF is what he used to be.  Trading for him would be a huge mistake.

Johnston said it well, outside of TB pretty much every team is operating on blind faith with their goalies.  Hoping for the best but without solid confidence.

We have to hope November Jack comes back because we'll go as far as he take us.

Vasilevsky isn?t some special superhero. He wasn?t good when the bolts lost to Columbus in the first round.

Yeah he is. 5 series ending games were shutouts...they don't win without him.

I mean great, but to bring that up after they won 2 cups where he was a huge part of it seems kinda, well, petty now.

With the cost of Hagel established that means Knies would have been the price to get Fleury and dump Mrazek. Lol. Kallgren it is.

I wonder how Dubas threaded the needle of hanging up immediately guffawing with laughter while doing so politely out of respect for his fellow GM.

Well, with Ka?e out for what might be a good stretch, you gotta think Ho-Sang is getting a contract and a looksee down the stretch

Edit:

Ok maybe not as bad as it looked

I don't even know if Ho-Sang has played since coming back from the Olympics. Haven't heard his name at all and don't remember seeing him in the lineup.

He last played March 9, and I haven?t heard what the issue or injury might be.

The Marlies caught whatever bug ailed the Leafs a week or so ago.
