Reminder: /theAthletic
?My favourite thing on a day-to-day basis about Will is how late he comes into the rink and doesn?t get stressed,? said Alex Kerfoot. ?He gets dressed in two minutes. He?s got his AirPods in and it never looks like he?s rushing. Everyone else is out in the hall, and Will just comes in, grabs some gum, grabs some tape and the next thing you know, he?s ready to go.?

There were times early in Kerfoot?s Leafs tenure when he grew anxious about his teammate. But now he knows Nylander ?has got it down to a science.?

?He?s the last one here, but he?s never late. He?s always right on time,? said Calle Jarnkrok of Nylander?s arrival to meetings, for example.

Wish I was as cool as this guy 😆

A ridiculous number of these are game tying, lead-taking, or outright game winners. Lead the team with 31 non-specialty teams goals.

Gregor seems like a bit of a McMann clone: speedy/feisty with above average offensive talent for a 4th liner. He's also 2 years younger with almost 200 NHL games under his belt though.

His defensive numbers are pretty rough though, which could prevent him from earning a roster spot since the team will likely need the 12th forward to PK. Still, would be a fine addition for depth/Marlies if he ends up earning a contract.

Bonus: he can dummy bottom feeder teams when our stars take the night off

Fun fact: Noah Gregor has more career points against the Arizona Coyotes than Auston Matthews does (each with 12 GP vs.).

Shane Doan remembers and picked up Gregor for Team Canada at the 2022 World Championships

I have a feeling deep in my gut that Leafs are winning the Cup this season.  You heard it here first.  56 year drought, done.

Might be indigestion

Lol.

I think the Leafs are going to plummet defensively. 99.7% chance Klingberg gets the Murphy/Gardiner treatment.

If the coaches start coming into the bench sans ties, this is why

Former Coyotes goalie coach so you'd assume there'd be some familiarity with Treliving there. Good luck in Pittsburgh.

Their careers in Arizona didn't cross over. Treliving was in Calgary by the time Elkin landed with the Coyotes. This offseason appears to have been their only overlapping period even though Elkin had also been with Calgary previously.

This might be a bit of a hot take but goalie coaches are probably the most overrated (or maybe just overanalyzed) part of a hockey staff. At least from a fan perspective.
