If the dramatic game seven loss does anything for the Leafs, it will surely burn a memory into their minds that will drive this team to redemption next season.
All is not lost, as nobody thought this team was good enough to even compete with the likes of the Bruins, let alone take them to seven, and nearly pull off a miracle win.
It was a horrible, horrible way to go down, one that a more experienced team could have avoided, but one that can and will be used as a catalyst for this team as it grows and matures. Hard to reset the memory button on last night, but pride will start to set in in a day or two, and the focus will shift to what they accomplished this seaon and not about the game seven collapse.
I for one was, and still am, excited about the future of this team, and think they will bring us success down the not too distant road. This is not a veteran team that has one or two more shots at the big prize. This is a young promising team that overachieved this post season, and learned a thing or two about about what it takes to play this game when the chips are down.
We all need to look past this defeat and get behind this team for next season, when much more will be expected!
GLG!
