Bruins @ Leafs - Apr. 16th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Leafs were awful in game 1 and got what they deserved. Game 2 they were better but still not quite good enough, plus the Bruins got all the breaks (and then some). This game, we finally got a few breaks and got a deserved win. One more and make it a series! Anything can happen at that point.

Good game. Gardiner was incredible, Rielly had a great bounce back game, and Hainsey and Polak were awful. Alright alright alright.

Fire Komarov into the sun.
Don't agree with the Polak comment. Def agree with Komarov to the Sun. I don't care if he's ready or not, Babs needs to leave this lineup alone

Nothing wrong with the effort tonight, keep playing like that and the Buds will be right back in this series. Still can't get over that stick save by Andersen!  :o

GO LEAFS GO!!!

Polar needs to be benched for Carrick.

Anderson gave up some bad goals, made a ridiculous save and got incredibly lucky.

Matthews needs to play 22 minutes instead of 17.

I actually won tickets to this game.  I'm hoping to transfer some of that luck to the home team. *fingers crossed*

This better be you the entire game, buddy.

Just for the record - I did this, and it worked. :)

Rehydrate and keep it up, good sir.

Typical Frenchie, needing his feelings massages with incense and candlelight to play well.  Give me a good ol Canadian boy like Colton Orr or Knucles McGee from Tarana.

Boston's 1st power play unit has looked completely dominant this series.  Even tonight, they were just lights out.  We'll need Andersen to steal this series for us, but he's capable!

And slow motion Matthews goal celebration which appears to have started with him saying "F***in' Right" has got to become a meme if isn't already.

Congratulations to Patrick Marleau on bypassing Gordie Howe for the 17th spot on his 69th goal of his playoff career.

And to Auston Matthews on his first ever postseason winning goal.

All the good things to say:

They're a really good team, they play well at home," Boston forward Brad Marchand said. "We knew they were going to push back, they did, and they had a good game. We were right there; their goalie made some really big saves, so put it behind us...."

"I thought our top line was fine for the most part. They just didn't finish. [David] Pastrnak got robbed about three, four times. That goalie made some head-scratching saves at the end. ... At the end of the day, they can be better. They had a tougher matchup tonight. [The Maple Leafs] were determined to keep them off the score sheet, and they did." -- Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy on Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand being held without a point for the first time in the series

Auston on Freddie:
"That was one of the best saves I think I've ever seen. That was unbelievable; it was a game-changer, for sure. There's still two minutes left, and then [Boston would] be down by one, so that was an unbelievable save, that was awesome." -- Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews on Frederik Andersen's stick save on Pastrnak.

What a game, what an effort.  Home is where the wins are for the Leafs.

"Tonight was definitely a statement game for us," Matthews said.  "It's great.  The crowd and everything, it feels like an earthquake when you score, especially in the playoffs."

Fantastico, guys.  Keep it up!

GO LEAFS GO!

Forgot to mention last night, but I was a bit shocked at how revved up Marleau seemed to be on his goals.  He's normally so even keeled and doesn't really show emotion, it was great seeing him all fired up like he actually believed the win meant something.  This is a guy that's already been to a Stanley Cup final so it was a bit weird, but good.

How I'm just discovering these now is beyond me.

I have theory that Austin's massive nostrils act as a cold air intake of sorts leading to his explosive play.

He doesn?t have a Cup. That?s what he signed here for. Of course he?s pumped.

If you want your kids to be athletes, definitely encourage nose picking with their thumbs.

Chara's shot was perfect. You don't like seeing those go in but that shot was perfect.

Agreed. I don't understand the criticism on that goal; that was an amazing shot.

That's how I feel, as well. Putting that one in took a perfectly placed shot from a tight angle. Credit to Chara for being able to put it there.
