Chara's shot was perfect. You don't like seeing those go in but that shot was perfect.

Agreed. I don't understand the criticism on that goal; that was an amazing shot.

I think the criticism stems from the fact that Anderson was half in his own net. If he had played it correctly, Chara would have had nothing to shoot at from that angle (pretty much the goal line).

Exactly.  Andersen was too crouched down and left an opening at the top of the net that Chara hit.  That opening should have never been there if he's positioned properly.

It's called playing the percentages. What's most likely from a defenseman on his strong side down at the goal line by the boards: cross-ice pass? or bank shot off the mask?

Cannot believe anyone is criticizing Andersen for that goal? Big man got some smooth hands to pull off that one off.

I didin't like the 1st goal. This one sucked but it was a great shot. Freddie more then made up for it.

Not sure if anyone posted this but what a tool Edwards is. Never seen a bigger homer in my life.

Haha..Well I bet he didn't complain when JVR hit the guy in the neck with the puck. Love the bone sticking out of his leg comment tho. It is what it is. Ref could have called a penalty against Marchand.. that would have driven him off the deep end lol.

Yeah he had a pretty epic rant when the Bruins beat the Habs in the playoffs a couple of years back.

He totally ignores the fact there's interference against Johnsson that should have been a penalty but freaks out cause they blow it dead...

1st goal wasn't great, and I'm not completely letting Freddie off the hook for it, but Johnsson -- in his panic to make up for his mistake -- basically jumped in front of him and partially screened it.

Has anyone found any definitive video of the puck hitting the glass on the DoG call? The one angle I keep seeing posted I can't quite tell. It's like the vase-face picture, depending how I look at it, sometimes it hits the glass sometimes it doesn't.

Also looked like he might have deflected it a little. Not enough for it to really cause a problem, but, enough that it didn't hit exactly where Andersen was expecting it to. Still should have been stopped, though.

It's hard to tell, because the glass was moving, too. Looked to me like it came really close, but never actually made contact. It almost rides up the glass, but without actually touching it.

Since it went in the Leafs favor I say it was a good call.

Yeah exactly, it seems that it's been declared a bad call because Jim Hughson said so, or something. With all the cameras I thought there would be a better angle out there by now. I guess we'll never know. :)

The replay shown during the first intermission you could see it hit the glass.

Always little things that effect goals. I said it in the game thread that Hyman didn't pressure Chara at all on his goal. A little pressure makes Chara maybe throw it in front or rush his shot. Chara had all day and you can't give NHL guys that much time. That's not excusing Freddie tho..He should have had it but you can't let guys skate freely out there. Poor effort from Hyman there.

That goal would have never happened if it was Komarov out there...

... is what Babcock is definitely thinking right now.
