Look I’m as frustrated as anyone with this team, but lamenting the loss/lack of opportunity of/for Alex Steeves is borderline nonsensical.

All he did was lead the AHL in goals for most of the year last year. He's also the alltime leader in pts and goals in Marlies history.

Steeves wasn't given enough of a chance but are a dime a dozen. The problem like LK just said our depth sucks is because we traded it all away and I'm not talking Steeves.

I mean I think it's a fair discussion point. We have struggled with depth year over year and when a guy was excelling in the AHL he never really got a chance to get a shot in the NHL. I think giving guys like Steeves an opportunity was a microcosm of the Leafs just overrelying on spending assets to upgrade holes and never trying internal options

I’m open minded, I think anyway, but putting aside this year, who should he have supplanted on the leafs roster since 2021? I’m just not seeing it.

They should put him in a room all alone and watch countless hours of video of Nathan MacKinnon so he can see what actually giving er most nights is like.
