Everybody ready for the next game?!  Canada/USA  Saturday (New Year''s Eve) at 7:30pm EST (on TSN).

Big game.  GO CANADA GO!

Let's see. Canada beats Finland 8-1. Finland beats USA 4-1. Will it even be a close game tomorrow?

Are these the same Americans that considered themselves the "team to beat"?

the same Americans that lost to the Czech Republic today and needs winless Denmark to beat Finland tonight to stay out of the relegation round?

;D

Don't think that's going to happen for them - it's 5-1 Finland late in the 2nd. Looks like tomorrow's game will be pretty meaningless, as Canada has already clinched 1st in their group.

We still need to flex our muscles tomorrow.

Of course, there's revenge to be had and the last thing you want is the team thinking they can take it easy in their last game before the medal round - especially with the longer layoff thanks to the bye. It really just means there's less pressure on them than there would have been otherwise.

Close game, don't know, but it will certainly be an 'emotional' one since I doubt Team USA nor Team Canada want to lose to each other.

Fleeeeeex!

Game won't mean too much with Canada already through to the semifinals and the US in the relegation round. To the players though it will mean something as some of them probably have teammates from their regular teams on the other side. Last thing you want to do is give them bragging rights. Would make next year interesting if the US got relegated, even though it will likely be Denmark.

That would be something, huh? Going from winning the gold to being relegated in such a short span. I know there's not a lot of continuity between the teams year to year, but, still, that would be pretty crazy.

Anyone else see the TSN report of the Dane's (five or six of them) being suspended for last night's game after joking about losing 10-2 to Canada at the post-game (I assume) press conference? Apparently they were also the top players. The Danish coach said "it wasn't how they wanted their players to act after losing"... The clip I seen, seemed to be a little self-deprecating actually.

They made reference to the suspensions several times during the Denmark-Czech Republic game last night. Haven't seen a clip of it, but apparently the coach wasn't too impressed.

The relegation round is set after Slovakia comes back from being down 4-2 and defeat the Swiss 6-4. Latvia, Denmark, Switzerland, and the USA. Slight change from previous years as only 1 team gets relegated (to be replaced by Germany), so keep an eye on the Latvia-Denmark game on January 4th.

Connolly. 3-0.

wheeeeeee
